Hi, my name is Ronnie. I am an American Contemporary Folk Artist. I conjure up images, then paint them on canvas. This makes me happy. Nice to meet you.

This IS an art blog!

With Joe's retirement came a whole new "to do" list:
Get the annual physical, apply for long term care insurance, do repairs on the house so we can put it on the market next Spring. So, I went for the physical and doc says, "Looks like your shoulder's still messed up. Time for a trip to the bone and joint man."
I haven't been able to lift my right arm above my head for way too long. I suspect it happened here at the farmhouse. The old windows had to come out and then...
I carried and heaved them in here. Then there was the painting and scraping...

Yep, that's me, on the ladder....
Here too, pulling up three layers of flooring to get to the wood. But alas, good news came today. After steroid shots and several weeks of physical therapy, I'm good to GO!
Yep, this is an art blog and it's back to the drawing board.
Joe has roofers scheduled next week and the living room to be repainted shortly after. I guess he'll be handling that. He's retired now!
YeeeeHaHHAHAHAHsnortHaHAAA! I'll keep you posted. It's a laugh a minute around here.
LOve you all,
Ronnie - struggling to stay an artist in a small town in Georgia

I had a frozen shoulder for about a year. Not fun. It finally went away with some physiotherapy.
Sounds like there is lots to keep an old retired man busy:)

Hi Ronnie, so lovely to read your post. What a load of work you have to do in your home, your a star!
The house will be all set and ready for the new buyers whom will be so pleased they have all the work done already. I love how you have built in cupboards, unlike in the uk we rip all the real wood out and place chip board in, we are crazy!
Can I say, love your new art! Colours are so vivid, awesome!

Hey Ron - you take care up them there ladders! We sound pretty similar - I'm always up ladders, fiddling with power tools (not really knowing what I'm doing) and digging up trees etc.... But take care Ronnie, you don't want to hurt yourself even more, cos then what about your paintings? Great to see you again, and hope all is well (except the shoulder, of course)

You are crayyyyyzzzzzeeeee lady!!!

After 4 years in Florida we're already thinkin' about downsizing, & this house isn't half the size of the one we owned in Pennsylvania. Having 2 houses is a big job. We also had a house at the beach (Delaware) - It was too much, 'specially with them being 126 miles apart. I do miss my boat slip though.

So much for retirement - eh?

Yikes! Steroid shots sound awful. Do they shoot you in the shoulder? It's so easy to twist wrong or lift something too heavy before you even realize it. Take it easy out there, gal. Enjoy your week. Susan

I'm glad your shoulder is on the mend. Your farmhouse is GORGEOUS! I'm trying not to covet that kitchen.

Hi, Ronnie! Glad to hear you're feeling better! And that you're getting all these tasks outta the way, so you can play artsy stuff! :-)

Love that cornice sort of thing above the kitchen windows......and speaking of windows, wow, sure wish I could drop by and scoop up those windows you've got stacked.....those are art just waiting to happen.

Found you at Miz Katie's .....love that girl.

I've been down the frozen shoulder road.....took a long time to get it back to normal.....what is funny is I originally injured it carrying a big 12 pack of beer!!!! HA! Kind of embarrassed about that actually.

Your art is charming, original and spunky......I want it.

I love the picture.

Your arm sounds exactly like my sister Mickey's. She is going through physio still they said it is 'frozen shoulder'.
