I painted another Big Biddy this weekend, celebrating my love of Chicks, Checks, Dots, Red and Yellow! You'll find it in my Etsy shop.
Sand Hill Cranes! They're heading back up North. This could be a good sign for you all up there.
I was doing the morning dishes and heard Joe call, "They're BACK!!" And I could hear them. DRRRRRR Drrrrrrrr Brrr DRRRRR! Hundreds of them flew over the house!
HUndreds and hundreds of trilling cranes. Can you imagine it?! Click the pic for a closer look.
This event thrills me no end! I ran out and took several pictures, but this is the clearest. I am no Shelagh Duffet!
Thursday I headed into Atlanta, Virginia Highlands to be specific. It's a small charming village surrounded by turn of the century houses. This is Highland Woodworking where you can learn everything you want to know about wood.
40% off sale on canvases at Sam Flax, so I was on a mission along with lunch with sisters.
A Valentine display and my reflection.....
This caught my eye as I was about to cross the street.... Painted Windows!
And here's the guy that creates them. I had to talk to him. So, I did! Charming man with elegant long hands and a passion for what he does. He paints these in reverse!! A brain buster to me. Click the pic to see a closer look at these great paintings. Here's his website....HERE!
A Yummy gourmet food shop....bella cucina
And heading out to eat with sisters. Sorry! I put the camera in the car at this point. We had sauteed veggies with Tofu and a luscious baby greens salad. Gawd this is a bunch of boring crap.
Are you there?! I didn't think so....Blahhh.
Oh, and that fabulous Giveaway!? Check here at B's place!
Love to you all,

I needed something cheerful. Love the chick, it's perfect.
I LOVE posts like this! Vicarious armchair travel. Seeing places familiar and near to blogger friends.
I have never seen a Sand Crane how fun that they signal Spring:)
Your pictures are just FINE! I really enjoyed them especially the one of your reflection next to the message I LOVE YOU! Subliminal message:))
Cheers,
Shelagh
Thanks for your concern Ronnie, I am safe and sound. The blazes are in Victoria, and Im in Queensland which is a different state. Its devastating down there, my heart goes out to them. I do love your chick, its bright and cheerful! I went and checked out the window artist, I really enjoyed his happy bright style. It looks like you live in a gorgeous sweet town.
Your bird is great.

Hey...the Sand Hill Cranes are like flying groundhogs! That must have been a sight.
I love finding little towns to wander in. Not enough of those around my neck of the woods that have interesting shops.
have a great day!
Thank you darling....

I have to admit that I didn't make it past the first paragraph of this post for quite a while. I clicked over to your Etsy shop and was completely taken with your artwork and needlework. I adore your pieces with the chicks, which probably is not a huge surprise, but the paintings of the children are also wonderful. I will have to pester my husband tonight about acquiring more artwork!
Now, back to your post. Loved checking out the photos from Virginia Highlands. So much of the US that I haven't seen. This was great. Thank you!

You guys are sweet. %)

Hi Ronnie!! Thanks for popping by my blog!!! I'm off to read yours!!
Sarah
Oh the Bird is sooooo cute!!!!
I like your Fish and Lightning bug
painting, too,on Etsy. Those painted windows are a great idea! I'll have to try it myself when I have time. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, Ronnie! Love the Sandhill Cranes. We used to live in northern Indiana, and they would come visit every October. It is something to watch all of those birds at once! :-)
And thanks for "following" my blog and leaving such nice comments ... and yes, I suggested Mar come visit, too.
What a great idea, painted windows! Your chick heart is so colourful and very cute.
Lovely to hear from you. The gallery is going slow at the moment. The owners are hoping that things pick up as the weather gets better. Seaside resort. Thank you so much for asking.
Love the fact that you still have migrating birds passing where you live. Must be awesome to see these birds.
Love this little chick!
I have a special affection for fat, happy little birds - they just tickle me!
That painted windows thing was pretty cool - I've got an old one I trip over EVERY time I'm in the craft room - now I've got an idea for it. Now if only I had some skill with painting... ;)
Thanks for dropping by my blog! I bookmarked your etsy and am off to ogle the goodies.
That guy's work is so much fun! Love those fish & flowers. I'm with you, can't be doing that backwards stuff.
We be needing some inspriation. Going to play music tomorrow, and paint something weird. That should do it! :) PJ
